A long-term ECG makes it possible to record heart activity over an extended period of time—usually 24 hours or longer, if necessary. This allows for the detection of heart rhythm disturbances that often go unnoticed during a brief examination at the doctor’s office.
For this test, a small, portable device will be attached to you to record your heart activity during your normal daily routine. The analysis provides important information regarding symptoms such as heart palpitations, dizziness, or unexplained chest discomfort, or for monitoring known heart conditions. After the analysis, the results will be discussed with you, and further steps will be planned as needed.
If you think this type of evaluation might be appropriate for you, or if you have any questions about the long-term ECG, please feel free to contact the office.
